My dad recently bought the new Forza Motorsport 3, a highly realistic racing game, generally consisting of high-end cars going very fast on famous tracks. Well, due to reasons not suited for discussion, my dad also bought an Xbox 360 Wireless Steering Wheel!
Anyway, shortly after purchase, I bought myself (in game) a Volkswagen Rabbit GTI (an F class car) and pimped it out all the way up to a B class. The thing goes like a bullet, but evidentially isn’t quite as stable as it would be at slower speeds.

The short clip above shows me flying round the final corner of the Nurburgring at around 140-150 MPH. Now, that speed is pretty big anyway, and considering I was doing it in THE most UN-aerodynamic car there is, something was bound to go wrong!
I ended up taking the corner slightly too sharply, hit the bumper track and completely destabilised the car. Excitement followed.

Gutta love it.

This is a short film I made to and from a day at school. It’s for a project I’m doing on states of mind, this short being about loneliness and depression. Fun eh?

My beds in my Test Room

Well, it’s bed time in the test room, and bed time for me as well!

The beds look pretty funky in the room. Remember though – it’s just a test room. The plan and purpose of that room is for testing and testing only!

Well, I’m pretty proud! Made my first half-decent 3D model! Woohoo!

Admittedly, it took me a while, but I learnt a lot of things along the way. Mainly about things like the Connect, Bevel and Extrude tools actually!

Anyways, a raging success if I may so so myself!

A very rough sketch of my imaginary hotel room

Well. I’m using a pretty rubbish program called “2D Design Tools”. It’s all we have at school. I’m currently looking in to some free AutoCAD software from AutoDesk, as I can get it free if I’m a student! Woohoo!

Anyways, that draw-up is pretty rough. In fact it’s very rough. 2D Design Tools isn’t really made for doing things like this. There’s no way to add measurements, and the door arcs are just circles with some bits cut off. I did my best!

Wow. I just looked at that picture properly. I have really low expectations, don’t I?

There really are some pretty amazing things you can do with 3DS Max!

Just been browsing around for tutorials so I start on making beds and stuff for my imaginary hotel room. Stumbled across a great site called TechTut. It gives fast but very, very effective tutorials, and it looks great for progessing my skills some!

Alas, the image above is (quite obviously!) not mine, but I’ll be working on either that or a bed when I get home!

The first prototype of my 3D hotel room.

Well we have to do an “Interactive Multimedia Project” for school, and whilst most people are doing children’s games on flash or a guide to the solar system, I decided I’d do a 3D Panorama!

The panorama will be for an imaginary not-yet-built hotel, and will be there to advertise its rooms to future clients. I’ve only just started, and have got the basis of the plan. There’s a still a way to go! Have to figure out how to model a toilet…

Apologies about the end of the video where it sort of abruptly cuts out. Windows Movie Maker was playing up, and I couldn’t be bothered to open up anything more sophisticated! The basic jist is that I came first with a time of around 3 mins 15 seconds.

This blog keeps track of the latest work and produce of V-Bytes, an alias for me, Jack Williams. I’m learning the tricks of the trade in areas such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and the like to try and increase my skills in video editing and production. I’m currently concentrating on special effects in Adobe After Effects, and look to be making a large number of short movies over the coming years. This blog will track the progress of my work, as well as tutorials I use and have used in the past to help me with my endeavours.
